Electrical Installation

Look closely at the sockets on the wall in your office. MK sockets give a clear indication of what is known as a dual earth socket for computer installations. The switches on the sockets in the picture are on the outside of the socket, indicating they are dual earth. The idea behind a dual earth is because Computers have a large earth leakage and these sockets meet regulation 607 from BS7671 IEE.

When installing sockets this way two earth connections are required at the distribution board and preferably an RCD (Residual Current Device) like you use at home for the lawn mower for example or an RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overload). This is like a fuse with an in-built RCD.
The example shown is taken from the MK logic range but there are many different types available on which we can advise to suit your needs.
We offer a full range of services and installations for commercial and industrial requirements premises, from an office refurbishment to a large data centre installation.
